JOB SUMMARY:  This position is located in the Athletic Division, of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department Aboard Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose of this position is to help management ensure all athletic facilities are clean, organized and in working order.


Incumbent is part of the Athletic department team and is responsible for ensuring all facilities equipment, rooms, locker –room, common areas as well as outside walkway and grass areas surrounding facilities are clean and free of debris. Collects and removes trash, cleans windows, sweeps and mops floors. May assist with set up and break down of special athletic events. May assist with inventory and relocating fitness machines and/or equipment. May replace burned out fuses and light bulbs and assists in replacement of electrical fixtures if needed. Will sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, equipment and fixtures, clean walls and restrooms and locker room areas. Advises supervisor/manager of unusual maintenance problems. Performs other related duties as required.


Qualification Requirements: Must have a basic understanding of facility cleaning and maintenance; preferably a minimum of 6 months. Must have skill in the use of common hand tools and the ability to perform limited preventive maintenance such as changing light bulbs, etc. Must be able to use common cleaning materials and equipment and adhere to safety requirements and regulations.


NOTE:  Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable). Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee’s eligibility to work in the United States. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
