Job Summary: This position is located at the Golf Course which is part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department aboard Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida.
MAJOR DUTIES: Ensures that customers sign the attendance roster and identifies the proper attendance category. Checks monthly membership cards to ensure the customer is current or checks the daily cash receipt to ensure the customer has paid the appropriate greens fee. Transfers names to the starting time roster. Schedules starting intervals to assure a consistent flow of traffic onto the golf course. Must be able to proficiently operate a computerized point of sale system. Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and accomplish work independently and with minimal supervision. Must be tactful and able to effectively meet and deal with the public. Must have knowledge of the rules and etiquette of golf. Golf knowledge and experience in a golf resale operation is preferred but not required.
NOTE: Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable). Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee’s eligibility to work in the United States. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies within 60 days of closing date. For positions requiring travel more than twice per year, selectee will be required to obtain and maintain in good standing a Government-issued Travel Card for official government travel purposes.
