JOB SUMMARY: This position is located at the Liberty Center which is part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department aboard Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. This activity supports our Single Sailor Program in the Recreation Center.
MAJOR DUTIES: Greets patrons, checks out equipment and conducts informal “how to” lessons on any equipment that the patron does not know how to operate. Provides basic information by phone and in person and assists patrons with facility usage ensuring facility areas are being properly utilized. Records daily attendance in all areas, registers participants for special events, classes, trips and other activities. Issues, inspects and inventories activity equipment daily. Responsible for completing daily reports as necessary and informs the supervisor of patron needs and requests. Assists with organizing and conducting special events, tournaments, entertainment programs and other activities. Performs general housekeeping duties as needed throughout the facility. Ensures the facility is opened at correct time and/or ensures that it is secured at the completion of the day’s operation. Assists with advertising and promotion of the Liberty Program to enlisted personnel throughout the base. Performs other related duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to effectively administer activities, programs and carry out duties of the position independently. Must have a pleasant outgoing personality and must demonstrate an ability to use diplomacy and tact in dealing with the public and provide top quality customer service. Must have general computer skills. Must be available to work a varying shift, which may include Holidays.

SPOUSAL PREFERENCE: Spousal Preference can be used only once to gain regular full time employment in the commuting area but may be used multiple times for flexible type position.

- Copy of spouses’ orders that state the “Ultimate Activity” is within the average commuting distance to NAS Jacksonville.
