JOB SUMMARY:  This position is located at the MWR Bowling Center operation at NAS Jacksonville. The purpose of this position is to correct all minor malfunctions of the automatic pinsetter while bowling is in progress and to assist the mechanic in a formal preventive maintenance and repair program of the bowling facility equipment to include but not limited to pinsetters, ball returns, bumpers, scoring, lane ball cleaners and lane maintenance machines along with other bowling center equipment.

 

MAJOR DUTIES: 
Makes minor adjustments and repairs of automatic pinsetter and performs periodic preventive maintenance on equipment such as vacuuming and cleaning machines.  Answers trouble calls, such as ball returns, re-spotting pins, and other malfunctions that may occur.  Sweeps, dusts, and cleans bowling center; empties all trash receptacles.  Ensures overall facility is clean and ready for customers and machinery is maintained.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be able to operate various commercial cleaning equipment including vacuum, buffer, etc. Must have an understanding of the use of hand tools. Must demonstrate the ability to perform tasks involving general maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical within the bowling center.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Work is normally performed inside in areas that usually have adequate light, heat, and fresh air, some outside work may be required. Exposed to noise, dust, grease, chemical solvents and possibility of cuts, bruises, abrasions and electrical shock.
Frequently lifts and carries parts and assembles weighing up to 40 lbs. Occasionally may push or pull assemblies weighing up to 100 lbs. Climbing of ladders both on and off pinsetters, going up and down ramps, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions are all part of the working conditions.

 

NOTE:  Some positions have special requirements. Selection may be tentative pending the completion of the satisfactory employment reference checks and receipt of proof of education (where applicable). Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period. Participation in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee’s eligibility to work in the United States. Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. SPOUSAL PREFERENCE: Spousal Preference can be used only once to gain regular full time employment in the commuting area but may be used multiple times for flexible type position.
